Jes took me for a run up on the ridge and you can see four mountain ranges from there. This really is the four corners! Pretty cool. I didn't run with the camera so that visual is for tomorrow. Love!

Day 3 - Jes and Lisa's ranch
Well, we made it to Dove Creek. It was a trek from Santa Fe but the drive is really beautiful so it was not so bad. Once we got to Dove Creek (which is 20 miles from the junction of nowhere) we drove another 6 miles, and mama (that's me, again!) started getting panicky attacky. Like, I don't like crowded spaces, but this was SERIOUSLY nowhere. But we finally found the ranch and it is so super-cool. The house and the cabins and the barns they built are just so beautiful and perfect, with so much attention to detail. An
d they have two tee-pees! Also two dogs, three horses, and so far I have met one cat (I bet there are more) and two ducks. We are staying in one of their cabins. The horse and dog chiropractor just came out and did adjustments on their animals (!!) - this dude was the real deal! Then he did an adjustment on Marc too and Marc is converted.

Day 2 - Santa Fe
As I write this, it is 9:45 pm our time (10:45 Texas time) and Skyler is still awake. Like crazy-person awake. Marc says she takes after me. I say she is stubborn like Marc.
We made it to Pasquales this morning (passed out last night without making it there) with Sky dressed just like Daddy does -- all her favorite pieces in one outfit. Pasquales had some rokk
Marc went and climbed some big hills while me and Sky decided to big chill instead. I got to get a little work done, and when Marc got back we went back up to the Santa Fe National Forest (where he had been) to go for a little hike. It was a very little hike cause mom (that's me) decided 2 pm was too hot to be taking her out for a hike.
While Marc was out getting some coffee, Sky and I further discussed the merits of Kombucha. So many! I just bought 7 (!!) to last me
I went out for a run later, after a few aborted efforts to find a good place to go, I ended up on Canyon Road, i.e. art gallery alley. It looked so boring I almost had to pull over to take a nap.
While I was out Sky and Marc went out for a beer, and Sky ended up having to drive home.
Tomorrow we are off to Jess and Lisa's!

Day One - the drive to Santa Fe
Honoring my personal biorhythms (it's a vision quest right? who wants a schedule!) we got kind of a late start, 7:20 am. The car was so jammed with gear, I had to sit with my legs crossed.
A little nap and the soft book Mom sent down a while ago and Sky was amused.
10:20 am, ensue meltdown. Meltdown bothers Marc more than it does LB, so he is allowed to don headphones.
We didn't even use our cell phones very much the whole trip. The weaker the reception, the harder your cell phone has to work. And after the article on CNN last week about cell phones, I am even more squirrelly about them than before. I would take the battery out of Marc's phone when he wasn't looking. Or if he got on it, I could ignore Skyler and she would start screaming so he had to get off.
Well, Skymonkey got her way finally, and could be quieted in about five seconds out of her seat. Oh, and her art-deco mobile helped a little. I was really wishing I had broken down and bought those Baby Einstein DVDs.
12 hours later and I am typing this from the Four Kachinas Bed and Breakfast in Santa Fe, that I found with the helpful advice on tripadvisor.com. I love that site. and it's really nice here. Off to get some (healthy, organic) Tex-Mex at Pasquales. Right after I go by Whole Foods and pick up lots of Kombuchas! It was a one-kombucha trip. And that one exploded all over the car and Skyler.
Next stop is Jes and Lisa's ranch in Colorado.
Miss you all!
(Aunty June, it is weird without you here!)
One more picture! This is why Skyler wins the battle of the wills, she is so cute!
